The Protect & Restore Safeguarding project is a safeguarding initiative designed to support professionals, community leaders, faith leaders and organisations in creating safer environments where individuals are protected from harm and supported in recovery when harm has occurred.
Rooted in Christian ethos of care, justice, dignity and restoration, the project recognises that safeguarding is both a professional responsibility and a moral commitment to protect the vulnerable and strengthen communities.
Protect
The Protect aspects focuses on prevention, accountability and safe leadership. It equops professionals and community leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to recognise risk and respond appropriately.
This includes:
- Safeguarding training and awareness
- Guidance for leaders and organisations
- Promoting safe policies and procedures
- Early identification of abuse or vulnerability
- Building cultures where concerns can be raised safely
- Protection ensures that organisations and communities become places of safety, trust and responsibility.
Restore
The Restore aspect focuses on healing, support and rebuilding trust when harm has occurred.
The project encourages professionals and leaders to support restoration through:
- Trauma-informed responses
- Compassionate pastoral and community support
- Strengthening community resilience and healing
- Restoration recognises that safeguarding is not only about responding to harm but also about helping individuals and communities recover and move forward with hope.

Meet Tessa one of the professionals that partnered with us
‘I have worked as a social worker, family support practitioner, ex-offender casework supervisor and mentoring manager in inner city boroughs as well as in the charity sector. As well as being a qualified social worker, I am an accredited Triple Parenting facilitator. This wide variety of experience has really given me an insight into the voluntary and charity sector and supporting families with often mutiple and complex needs. I have been working with Deepika at Keeping Families Together for a number of years and I have recently partnered with her to develop an online parenting course and to provide support/information for social workers to deal with the various challenges the work entails. I was keen to be part of this exciting project because the staff at Keeping Families Together are doing some much needed work in the community, connecting with young people and parents to ensure they feel a sense of purpose and belonging. I am thrilled to be part of the online courses for parents and social workers and I have no doubt that people participating in this new online training will benefit enormously as Keeping Families Together have a wealth of experience and knowledge.’ Tessa.F.
